All three details must match the register exactly as they are held against your record.

Student ID / Reference number

8-digit Student ID, or a temporary reference in the form UC/…/RPN…. Printed at the foot of your certificate.

Surname

Family name exactly as it appears on your passport.

Passport number

As held on your student record. Spaces and dashes are ignored.

Your passport number is used only to locate the record. It is never displayed in full.

The process

Four steps to a verified award

Self-service verification replaces the old email-and-wait process. Students and employers get the same answer from the same register.

Identify the record

The reference number, surname and passport number must all match the register. A URN on its own is not enough — that is what stops guesswork against the register.

Confirm the award exists

The register tells you free of charge whether a matching record is held, along with the award title and its current status.

Review the record

The result shows the name, qualification, completion date and status exactly as the register holds them, with the passport number masked.

Keep a copy

Print or save the result. It carries a verification reference and the date of the check, which an employer can quote back to the registrar.

Common questions about checking an award conferred by the International University of America.

Contact the records office at verify@iua.ac with a copy of your passport or national ID. Staff will confirm the surname and passport number held against your record and correct the register where it is wrong. The passport number must be the one recorded at enrolment, which is not always the one you expect if your passport has been renewed since.

Yes, provided you give them your Student ID or reference number, your surname and your passport number. The result carries a verification reference and the date of the check, so it can be re-checked with the registrar at any point afterwards.

The award was conferred and subsequently withdrawn, usually following an academic misconduct finding under IUA's Academic Regulations. The register shows the status honestly rather than removing the record entirely.

Check the Student ID or reference for transcription errors and confirm the surname and passport number held on your student record. If all three are correct and the check still fails, email verify@iua.ac quoting the reference and we will investigate within two working days.
